Gaskets for cement plants

Cement plants move hot gas, dust and abrasive raw meal through large ducts, cyclones and kilns. Ducts expand and vibrate, flanges are often non-standard, and a leaking joint lets in false air that costs fuel. We supply QGER gaskets cut to any duct size, plus expansion joints and high-temperature seals for the hot end of the plant.

Points to watch

  • Above about 450 °C in air, flexible graphite oxidises. For kiln and cooler hot gas, ask us about ceramic fillers.
  • Send duct flange drawings with bolt-hole positions. Most cement duct gaskets are made to order, not taken from stock.
  • Abrasive dust wears soft gaskets at the bore. Keep the gasket inner edge flush with the duct wall.
