Gaskets for oil refineries

Refineries run crude and vacuum units, hydroprocessing reactors and catalytic crackers at high temperature, often with hydrogen, sulfur compounds and frequent thermal cycling. Each flange needs a gasket that keeps its load through start-ups, shutdowns and turnarounds. We supply QGER gaskets for every refinery unit, from tank farm piping to hydrocracker reactors.

Points to watch

  • Above about 450 °C in air, flexible graphite oxidises. For fired heater and FCC hot service, ask us about ceramic or mica fillers.
  • For hydrogen and sour service, state the hydrogen partial pressure and H₂S content so we can confirm metals and hardness.
  • Turnarounds need many gaskets at once. Send your flange list early so manufacturing starts before the shutdown.
